Intern Career Counselor
By working as an Intern Career Counselor, you will be aiding students in building future educational or career paths. You will typically help clients evaluate their abilities and interests, overcome challenges and obstacles, and develop necessary skills. Moreover, you will also assist people in learning how to job hunt, including associated activities such as interviewing, writing resumes and crafting cover letters.
Tasks
- Educate students on resume building, interview
skills, and professionalism.
- Guiding the students in determining their
interests and abilities using a wide range of methods, such as aptitude
assessments, interviews and planning materials.
- Facilitate students, parents and professionals
for educational and careers related concerns.
- Providing satisfactory career counseling
services to existing and prospect clients.
Skills and
Qualifications
- MS degree in Career Counseling or in related
field.
- Listening skills to fully understand the
students' issues before offering help.
- Knowledge of admission requirements and
scholarship opportunities for intermediate, undergraduate and postgraduate level
within Pakistan and around the world.
- Ability to empathize and work with students to
overcome issues that could undermine their academic or career success.
- A non-judgmental approach while interacting with clients of diverse background.
- Demonstration of probing, questioning,
attending and active listening
